Big Timber 100 Camporee

Celebrating a Century of Scouting at the BigTimber100 Camporee! ⛺️⚜️

Our scouts recently made history by attending the monumental BigTimber100 Camporee Centennial Celebration at Camp Big Timber in Elgin, Illinois! This wasn’t just any ordinary weekend campout; our troop joined forces with Troops, Crews, Ships, and Posts from all over the Three Fires Council to celebrate 100 years of adventure at the historic camp.

The weekend was jam-packed with unforgettable activities that tested our scouts’ endurance and outdoor expertise. Our scouts put their navigation skills to the ultimate test in the high-stakes Orienteering Competitions, tackled classic scouting challenges, and stepped back in time by exploring a century of scouting memorabilia at the Camp Big Timber Museum.

The absolute highlight of the trip was the massive Centennial Campfire. Scouts from all over gathered around the flames to sing songs, perform skits, and honor both 100 years of Camp Big Timber and the upcoming 250th anniversary of America. We returned home exhausted but proud to have been part of scouting history. Here’s to the next 100 years of adventure at Big Timber!
