Come out and celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday at the Villa Park 4th of July Parade hosted by the Villa Park V.F.W. Post #2801. The parade steps off at 10:00. Make sure to cheer on all participants, scout groups, and especially Troop 242!

Troop 242 has been supporting Villa Park and Lombard for 50 years! On June 27, 2026, many current and former scouts and scouters of Troop 242 got together for a reunion at V.F.W. Post #2801. Grant’s Pilgrimage – Galena, Il.
We had fantastic weather this year for our fifth visit to Galena to walk in the footsteps of General U.S. Grant. The city welcomed us, once again, with Civil War battle reenactments, root beer, and quite a bit of history. Polar Bear Camp – Cantigny, Wheaton Il.
Although the weather in March was not quite ‘Polar’ this was our start for the tent camping season complete with cooking over a wood fire. Scouting for food
Members of the troop participated in the “Scouting for Food” drive sponsored by the Three Fires Council of Illinois. Last month several members of Troop 242 participated in the “Scouting for Food” drive in Villa Park.
